My love for horses began at a very young age. My grandparents had a farm in Northern Alberta, Canada and there I would spend summers. They always had a horse for me to ride.

My first formal riding lessons were in England. When I was a child we lived in Wiltshire and I rode the lesson pony over the Marlborough Downs. Wiltshire is the home of the "White" or "chalk" horses. Thus, when the opportunity came to acquire Ragtime, my mind went immediately back to those days on the Downs. Hence, Chalkhorse Farm.

Sue Lightner

Chalkhorse Farm is very fortunate in its affiliation with Sue Lightner of Lightacres. Sue is an outstanding trainer. With such a great team behind him, Ragtime continues to excel down the road to great success.
